Edward Bridger-Stille

Edward has enjoyed a long and very rewarding career in the classic car auction world and is therefore extremely well placed to continue to drive forward the ongoing success of Historics. He is a keen classic car collector and is committed to offering Historics' clients a straight forward, pleasurable and profitable experience. In his role as Auction Director, Edward's experience and breadth of knowledge has proved invaluable and he remains a key figure in the Historics family.

Mathew Priddy

With a father who worked at both Jaguar and Porsche, it was only natural that Mathew should follow the motoring bloodline and study to be a car designer, cutting his first teeth at Porsche.  After a brief spell away from the car industry in media and marketing, Mathew was soon lured back by his first love, starting a small collection of his own and setting benchmark prices for clients on a regular basis.  With his media knowledge combined with a  love for classic and rare cars, Mathew has amassed a worldwide client list and is ideally placed to consign and sell your classic or sports car.

Mark Perkins

Mark was instrumental in the birth and continues to be the driving force behind the success of Historics. His relentless desire for perfection and boundless energy have assisted to ensure that Historics achieves the tough deadlines and high standards that the company has set itself. Representing England in the (senior) category for waterski jumping and running Step Property, Character Cars and a large family, he certainly has his work cut out for him.

Stewart Banks

Stewart has had extensive experience selling luxury cars at the premium end of the market, working for some of the country's leading dealers. Having spent over 28 years in the motor trade, he now brings that experience and enthusiasm to Historics. He has a passion for cars, whether it is a modern day classic or a fine vintage example.

Nick Wiles

Starting his career in the financial markets in the Far East and London, Nick realised early on that his career laid in the classic car world. For the last 12 years he has worked as a senior classic car specialist at an international auction house in London gaining vast experience and knowledge of the classic car market from pre-war motorcars through to modern supercars. Some of Nicks career highlights include discovering and selling a barn find 1958 Ferrari 250GT Series I Pininfarina Cabriolet and the lost ex-Le Mans 1958 Porsche 550 Spyder. He was also instrumental in bringing a collection of over 200 cars from the depths of the Texan desert to auction. Nick will travel all over the world to bring significant cars to the market with recent trips to Japan, Australia and Bahrain. When not working you will find Nick on his bike cycling the cols of the Southern Alps or tinkering with his Series I Land Rover.

James Good

Born into a Motor Racing family, James spent his childhood surrounded by racing cars and competed himself for 18 years in Hillclimbing driving single seaters. His career began in property then to the City and until recently working for an international Classic Car Auction company, valuing private collections of classic road and racing cars. His attention to detail and affability with clients, gained him much respect within the industry. In his spare time, he can be seen on the golf course, at a motor sport event or spending time with his twin daughters.

Valerie Haag-Wiles

Born into a car family, with both her grand-father and father classic car collectors, Valerie grew up surrounded by classic cars, spending many weekends on rallies and attending car auctions with her father. It was only natural for her to follow into her family's footsteps and she has worked for over 10 years as the Auction and Events Manager at an international auction house in London. Managing over 100 auctions both in the UK and across Europe, Valerie has gained tremendous experience over the years in all aspects of the classic car auction world. In her spare time, Valerie has a passion for photography and travelling, aiming to travel to at least one new country every year. Valerie is fluent in English, German and French.

John Tomlin

With over 40 years involvement within the classic and sportscar world, John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Historics team. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of pre-1970s Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars, a love for the early Ferraris and has been involved with the sales and restoration of most types of European marques. Often seen at the major historic motorsport events such as Goodwood, you can now also meet him at the Brooklands Breakfasts.

John Williams

John has been involved with buying and restoring classic cars since 1974 shortly after joining the Royal Air Force. During his 27 years of service in the RAF, John was also involved in the restoration of historic aircraft and the development of specialist aircraft equipment. This attention to detail stood him in good stead when, after leaving the RAF, he built an internationally respected business dealing with high quality Italian classics such as Alfa Romeo and Maserati.  With an enviable private collection and a clear depth of knowledge and experience, John will cater well for our client base in Wales and SW England.

Rebecca Seager

Rebecca began her career in the hotel industry and helped coordinate a multi-million pound refurbishment of a Four Star hotel. Following the successful completion of this project, Rebecca provided project support and coordination for projects such as The Shard and Terminal 5. Rebecca has since returned to the Automotive Industry to indulge her passion for cars from her parents who had a small dealership where Rebecca would regularly be found in the showroom. Rebecca more recently worked at McLaren and was able to indulge her passion for both Formula 1 and sportscars in general.

Gerald Pettit

Gerry has over 45 years' experience in the motor trade, repairing and servicing British classics such as Lotus, Morgan and Aston Martin. Since the mid 1980's he has been running his own workshop and retail premises in West London specialising solely in Aston Martin and selling automobilia and collectors' toys. With plenty of experience both buying and selling at auction houses in England and abroad, Gerry has a plethora of valuable contacts and represents a very welcome addition to Historics.

Fabian Hine

An experienced and well respected classic car auctioneer, Fabian brings many years of knowledge to the Historics' rostrum. He has been instrumental in selling everything from racehorses to helicopters including the odd Bugatti and, perhaps one of the most famous cars in the world, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A keen supporter of The Woking Hospice, he spends much of his spare time assisting them wherever he can.


Edward Rising

Edward was one of the main auctioneers at Sotheby's who conducted many high profile Fine Art auctions in their famous Bond Street Galleries including the collection from the estate of the late Gianni Versace which sold for £7,400,000.  Edward now conducts Fine Art Auctions around the world as well as dedicating much of his auctioneering experience to raising money for charity. He learnt to drive in a 1968 Ford Mustang with a three speed gearbox before family needs took over!


Ted Poole

From the first motorcycle purchased at the tender age of nine from a hard earned paper round,  little did Ted know that that Phillips Panda was to be the first of many hundreds of motorcycles to follow! After time served as a toolmaker/machinist in the aircraft industry working on Rolls Royce turbine engines of the late 80's early 90's,  he followed his apprenticeship by opening a motorcycle shop in Southampton specialising in spares and repair of the Triumph, BSA and Norton's. Twenty years on and dozens of motorcycle restorations later, Ted is still actively restoring and collecting motorcycles both modern and classic.
