The Corvette was built by the Chevrolet division of General Motors over six generations. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. The National Corvette Museum documents the car's worldwide history and hosts an annual event. The third generation Corvette, patterned after the Mako Shark II concept car, was introduced for the 1968 model year and lasted until 1982. C3 coupés featured the first use of T-top removable roof panels The Corvette's 25th anniversary was celebrated in 1978 with a two-tone Silver Anniversary Edition and an Indy Pace Car replica edition. It was the first time that a Corvette was used as a Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500. In 1970, the body design was updated including fender flares and interiors were refined including seats. 1973 Corvettes are unique in that sense; in that they are the only year where the front bumper was polyurethane and the rear retained the Chrome two-piece bumper set - 1973 was also the last year chrome bumpers were used.

This Corvette T-top has recently been imported into the UK by the vendor who has now registered the car on UK plates. Previously she was owned by Dick Butkus who played American football for the Chicago Bears. Presenting in very good condition the 350cu inch engine runs well and sounds superb assisted by the twin side exhausts. The blue paintwork is in good order as is the magnolia trim. The removable targa panel offers the combination of open roof motoring and the security of hard top driving in inclement weather. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until March 2018.
