Historics utilise BidPath's superior technology in order to create an improved online bidding experience for our customers. All users with or without an account will be required to register for the auction they wish to bid on.
Registering for our online Auction is simple. Simply create an account, fill in your name, address and email, and choose a password. An email will be sent to the address you provide. Clicking on the link in this will complete your registration and you will be able to begin using Historics online powered by BidPath immediately.
To participate in bidding on any sale you will require to place a ‘hotel style’ holding deposit of £1,000, it important to note this is held by your bank and not Historics and would only be used in the event of non-payment for a lot. This deposit is released after the auction time elapses and you bank will remove the hold on that deposit amount.
Pre-auction bidding, once authorised you will be able to place bids on any lot consigned to the upcoming auction you have registered for, these bids will be transferred to the live auction on the day of the sale much like a commission bid.
In auction bidding, as the name suggests, you can make real-time bids during the sale; you see the lots on your computer at the same time as they appear in the auction room. Your live bids are relayed directly to the auctioneer and an audio feed allows you to hear bids in the room.
To simply watch and listen to the auction you do not even need to register. If you wish to bid, you will first have to fill in the simple registration form to create an account and then sign up for the auction.
Participants should note that all purchases made through Historics website are subject to just 12% commission (+vat) whereas third party online bidding such as ATG (BidSpotter/Salesroom/iBidder) and Invaluable do attract a further surcharge of 2% fee for motor cars and 3% for Automobilia. If you require any help you can contact our team on (+44) 1753 639170.
If you are successful with any bids, please contact the office and let them know what your plans are for payment and collection. You can pay at once either by bankers draft, debit or credit card or you can organise your finances at a later date, in which case the lot will be taken into storage until cleared funds are with us.
